In the medina, the Musée de Marrakech occupies the Dar Menebhi, a grand early-twentieth-century palace with a spectacular central atrium, showing Moroccan art, ceramics and calligraphy in rooms worth the ticket alone. A short walk away, the Maison de la Photographie gathers thousands of vintage photographs of Morocco from the 1870s onward and rewards you with one of the medina's best rooftop cafés and views over the Ben Youssef quarter.

Are the museum entrance fees included?
Usually not — the guide and transport are included, and the tickets are paid separately on the day. They're modest (roughly 40–100 MAD each) and paying as you go lets you choose which museums to enter. Bring cash in dirham, or ask for an all-inclusive private version.
Is a museums tour good for a hot day?
Ideal. Almost all of it is spent inside cool palace courtyards and galleries, with shaded café stops between, so it's one of the best plans for the hottest part of the day or the peak of summer when walking the souks is punishing.
How long does the museums tour take?
