Oasiria Water Park

Overview

When the monuments are done and the children are melting, Oasiria is Marrakech's answer — the region's biggest water park, a landscaped spread of slides, pools and lagoons on the city's southwestern edge. There are white-knuckle flumes for teenagers, a wave pool and lazy river for cruising, and gentle shallow zones for toddlers, all set among lawns and palms with the Atlas Mountains on the horizon. It's the classic family day off.

Oasiria sits a short drive southwest of the city on the road toward the barrage (dam) and Amizmiz, spread over a large landscaped site. The attractions cover the full range: a cluster of tall slides and flumes for thrill-seekers, a wave pool that fires up at intervals, a meandering lazy river, and a separate children's lagoon with pirate-themed play features and shallow water for the youngest visitors. Sun loungers, lawns and shade dot the grounds.

Facilities are geared to a full day out — changing rooms, lockers, lifeguards, and a scatter of snack bars and restaurants so you don't have to leave to eat. Many families make a whole day of it, and the park often runs a shuttle from central Marrakech, which removes the hassle of transport. Because it's outdoors and pool-based, it's very much a warm-season attraction.

Being a modern leisure park rather than a historic garden, Oasiria is about relief and fun rather than culture — but that's exactly its value on a long Marrakech itinerary, especially with kids or in the summer heat. Arrive near opening to claim shade and beat the queues for the popular slides, check the seasonal hours before you go (it typically runs from late spring into early autumn), and treat it as a refreshing full-day pause from the intensity of the medina.
