Cooking Classes & Food Tours in Marrakech

Shop for spices in the souk, cook a tagine in a riad kitchen, and eat your way through Jemaa el-Fnaa — this is Marrakech at its most delicious.

Hands-on cooking classes
Guided food tours
Private or small group
3-4 hour sessions

Moroccan food is one of the great cuisines of the world — aromatic, slow-cooked and built around a tradition that goes back centuries. Learning to cook it in Marrakech, with ingredients bought from the same souks that have supplied the city for generations, is one of the best things you can do here.

If cooking is not your thing, a guided food tour through Jemaa el-Fnaa at night is equally unforgettable — your guide navigates the smoke and chaos, picks the best stalls and explains what you are eating.

Common questions

How much does a cooking class cost?

A group cooking class runs 250-400 MAD (25-40 EUR) per person including the market visit, all ingredients and the meal. Private classes start from 500 MAD.

Can I do a vegetarian or vegan cooking class?

Absolutely. Moroccan cuisine has many naturally plant-based dishes — vegetable tagines, zaalouk, harira and couscous with seven vegetables. All our operators accommodate dietary requirements.

Is the street food safe to eat?

Yes — the high turnover at popular stalls means the food is fresh. Our guides take you to stalls that maintain good hygiene. In years of running food tours, stomach issues are very rare.

Can children join?

Yes. Cooking classes are great for kids aged 6 and up — they love rolling couscous and shaping pastries. Food tours work well for adventurous eaters of any age.
